The FRAFOL teaching capsule was presented at the Tool Demonstration track of the ACM SIGSOFT International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA) on September 18th, in Vienna, Austria.
ISSTA is a leading research symposium on software testing and analysis, bringing together academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners to exchange new ideas, problems, and experiences on how to analyse and test software systems.
FRAFOL is a teaching capsule that aims to ease the introduction of mutation analysis and testing into software engineering curricula. It allows the use of Major and PIT mutation testing tools through the same very easy-to-use web interface. This common interface avoids having to install and learn how to use different mutation testing tools to experience tools’ differences and understand mutation testing concepts better. FRAFOL was validated with students. The results are promising and are reported in the ISSTA paper.
